Internship Program

Prepare for a Dynamic Future

An internship at Thomson Reuters is an experience that can positively impact your career and your life. Our paid internship programs provide a professional experience for students, individuals new to the professional workplace, and those looking for a fresh career change. We offer internships within our Product Support, Sales, and Development departments.

As an intern, you will be working with the broadest software product line in the accounting profession. Our team is professional and experienced, and promotes a forward-thinking approach that embraces new technology. Your training will consist of a full background on Thomson Reuters products, tax law, and broad coverage of applicable network and computer operating systems used in public accounting firms. Consider an internship in one of three departments:

Product Support

Our customers will rely on you for answers to questions ranging from simple queries regarding software installation to complicated matters regarding tax calculations and theory. You will also be exposed to the business practices of thousands of CPA firms nationwide and acquire skills that will help you transition into the workforce in any number of career fields.

Sales

During your internship with Sales, you will learn about our innovative product line and how our solutions are used within professional accounting firms. Offering an all-inclusive learning experience, you will participate in sales meetings and product instruction and sales training. You will also have the opportunity to sell training to existing customers—gaining first-hand experience with the selling process, including problem solving and needs analysis to ensure buyers select the tools and services that will best help their firms.

Accounting Development

We offer two full-time internship opportunities within our Accounting Development department—Analyst and Programmer. Below are the individual descriptions.

Analyst Internship (for Accounting or AIS majors)—provides you with training on our full line of accounting products. You will work closely with software developers and analysts to ensure proper functionality of the software. You will be exposed to business practices of CPA firms and acquire skills that will help you transition into the workforce in any number of career fields. Specific responsibilities include, conducting comprehensive product testing of the software to evaluate functionality and usability, testing and verifying product compliance with internal functional and design specifications, reviewing technical documentation for accuracy, and providing feedback to the team regarding product issues.

Programmer Internship—provides you with experience using Microsoft Visual Studio (C++ and potentially C#) and other tools and software, as well as working collaboratively with Product Analysts in determining and meeting functional requirements. Specific responsibilities include coding software to meet design specifications, performing issue verification, and testing software code prior to production release.

Hundreds of people (and counting) have interned at Thomson Reuters and we've offered full-time positions to several of those eligible. Internships are offered several times a year, depending on your area of interest. If you wish to be considered for an Internship at Thomson Reuters, please submit your resume to either your college's internship coordinator or to us directly on this website.
